CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Catherine Hartmann, 82, of Charles City, died on Friday, December 23, 2011, at her home.

Funeral services for Catherine Hartmann will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home. The Rev. Todd Sorensen will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, December 26, and an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Catherine Joan Hartmann, 82, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Friday, December 23, 2011, at her home.

Funeral services for Catherine Hartmann will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Reverend Todd Sorensen will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City. Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Catherine Joan Springer Hartmann was born August 28, 1929, at Albion, the daughter of Clarence and Alice (Waddell) Springer. She graduated from Floyd Consolidated School. On October 23, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert Hartmann. Catherine worked at Salsbury Laboratories, Holiday gas station and diner and Floyd County Memorial Hospital for 22 years, head cook for 17 years. She was a member of the Heritage Club, Royal Neighbors, 60 Plus Card Club and Senior Citizens of Charles City. Her interests included cooking, vegetable and flower gardening, playing cards, crafting, flowers and nature in general. Catherine always looked forward to sharing her life with her family and friends.

Living family members include five children, Sandra (Mike Hueholt) Hartmann of Des Moines, Barbara (Todd Sorensen) Hartmann of Littleton, Colo., August (Carolyn) Hartmann of Denver, Colo., Linda (Michael) Leiva of San Antonio, Tex. and Christina (Terry) Payne of New Hampton; 17 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lou Lipelt of Owatonna, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, on October 27, 2006; and a grandson, Zachariah Payne.
