NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Beverly Phyllis Coffey, 80, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, with the Rev. Dr. Jack Gannett officiating. Inurnment will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye Ave., Nora Springs, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Should friends desire, memorials may be directed to the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, Hospice of North Iowa or American Cancer Society in Beverly's name.

Biography
Nora Springs, Iowa - Beverly Phyllis Coffey, 80, died October 5, 2011 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, following a blessedly brief battle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 8, 2011, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs with Reverend Dr. Jack Gannett officiating. Inurnment will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.
Visitation will be Friday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 North Hawkeye Ave., Nora Springs; and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Should friends desire, memorials may be directed to the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Hospice of North Iowa or the American Cancer Society to honor Beverly’s memory.
Beverly was born March 11, 1931, the daughter of John and Eva (Hofler) Hartwig. Shewas raised on the family farm five miles northeast of Nora Springs. Beverly was active in 4-H and many school and church activities. After graduating from Wartburg College, she taught elementary school in Fort Dodge, and later she enjoyed substituting.
Beverly Hartwig was united in marriage to Neil Coffey on August 15, 1954, at St. James Lutheran Church in Mason City, and they had a joyous marriage. The couple farmed the home place and delighted in their four daughters and their active lives. Beverly loved to work with children at St. Luke's Bible school and Sunday school. She volunteered with the American Cancer Society for 23 years and recently volunteered at the Nora Springs Library.
She is survived by four daughters: Marlene (Bob) Greve, Jennifer (Jerry) Henry, Judy (Dan) Rottinghaus, and Colleen (Tracy) Young; four grandchildren: Eric (Rose) Rottinghaus, Nicole Rottinghaus, Kaitlin and Keith Sutcliffe; one great-grandson: Hunter Rottinghaus.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and three sisters.
