Funeral services were held Monday, March 2, 1987, at United Church of Christ in Osage for Mrs. Richard (Carol) Boeke, 55, of Osage. The Rev. Keith Hejnal officiated and burial was in Hubbard Cemetery at Hubbard, Iowa. Boeke Funeral Home of Hubbard was in charge of the graveside arrangements.

Mrs. Boeke died on Friday, February 27, 1987 in Mitchell County Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

She was born on March 1, 1931 at Anderson, Indiana, to the Rev. Kirk and Alpha (Courtwright) Goodrick. She attended schools at Phillipsburg, Kansas, and graduated from Central High School in Pueblo, Colorado, in 1949. Following graduation, she was a school secretary for the Pueblo School District.

On September 21, 1954, she married Richard G. Boeke at Hubbard, with her father performing the wedding ceremony. The couple lived in Iowa City, Davenport, Milwaukee, the Panama Canal Zone and Cresco. The past 20 years they have lived in Osage.

She was an avid drum and bugle corps fam and traveled extensively with the Osage Precisionaires and the Sky Ryders of Hutchinson, Kansas.

She organized the International Boutique at the United Church of Christ in Osage 19 years ago, and was active in church work through the years.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Richard Boeke of Osage; a daughter, Gayle Boeke of Des Moines; three sons: David of Des Moines, Bruce of Albuquerque, N.M., and James of Denver, Colorado; her father, the Rev. Kirk Goodrick and stepmother, Emeline Goodrick of Liberal, Kansas, and a sister, Donice Mink of Didge City, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister.
