DENVER, COLORADO — Marshall D. Trout, 73, former Charles City, Iowa, resident, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at The Denver Hospice in Denver.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 16, at the Mississippi Avenue Baptist Church in Aurora with interment at Fairmount Cemetary in Denver.
He married Mary Jean Woolworth in 1959 while serving in the Navy and the couple had three children: Carleen, Dale and Darrel. Marshall worked at the Oliver/White Farm Equipment in Charles City for over 20 years before the plant closed. Marshall was very involved in the Boy Scout program while living in Charles City, and served as Scoutmaster of his troop. He also was an avid gardener, baseball player and spectator and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Marshall is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jean (Woolworth) Trout, of Aurora, a daughter, Carleen (Bruce) Sanden, of Altoona, Wis.; sons Dale Trout and Darrel (Andrea) Trout, both of Aurora; his grandchildren: Lance (Danielle Sanden), Heather (Jake) Feigum, Danny Trout, Sammy Trout and Vicky Trout; and one greatgranddaughter, Rozalynn Sanden. He is also survived by two sisters, Fran (Gary) Hveem, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dorothy (Doug) Larson, of Glenwood Springs.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Hilan and Bessie (Seckar) Trout, and niece Stephanie Hveem.
