OSAGE, IOWA - Samuel J. Roberts, 84, died Monday at his home in Osage. Having been in failing health for some time.

The Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Champion Funeral Home and at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Rudd. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Rockford.

He was born on December 10, 1869, to James and Louise Roberts, near Rudd, where he spent his boyhood.

He married Jennie G. Crowell of Rudd, on December 25, 1891. The couple lived southwest of Rockford, then east of Rudd, later purchasing the parental Crowell farm where they lived until 1951, when they retired to Osage.

He leaves a wife and a son, Samuel Bern, both of Osage; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a baby daughter, three brothers: Delbert, William and Arthur, and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Schlick and Mrs. Elizabeth Brownell.
