Funeral services for Marvin Clark Moser, 80, of Charles City will be 7:00 p.m Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Reid’s Funeral Chapel, 519 N. First St., Greene, with Pastor John Hanna officiating. A grave side service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at Rose Hill Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by Tack-Barnett Post 268, American Legion of Greene.

Visitation will be 4:00 until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral chapel.

Marvin Clark Moser was born April 6, 1931 on the family farm near Greene, Iowa a son of Clark and Lucy (Peg) (Meek) Moser, and passed away July 29, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa. Marvin received his education in the Greene schools, graduating in 1949.

Marvin served in the United States Army from 1952-1955 serving in the Korean War. On the date of his discharge he was united in marriage with Helen Louise Mitchell. To this union four children were born.

The Moser’s made their home in rural Greene where Marvin worked for Greene Farm Equipment and Siemons LTD until retiring ten years ago. Between 1985 and 1990 Marvin lived in Texas, Helen had become ill and desired to return to where her family was from. Marvin worked as a security guard during this time. Helen died in 1998.

Marvin married Rhonda Clark October 1, 2007 in Charles City. Their home was in Charles City and he treated Rhonda’s family as if they had always been his.

Marvin raced stock cars many years at Midway Racetrack and at Nashua for many years in the 1960's through the 1970's. He loved watching Nascar races and westerns on television. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren were special times for him. Many will remember Marvin as he drove his modified Wrangler scooter around Charles City, visiting friends, going to the Farmer’s Market or the hospital. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greene.

Family members include his wife, Rhonda of Charles City; children: Jeanne Alizadehasi, Clearwater, Florida; Peggy Aghaei, Charles City; Dennis Moser, Clearwater, Florida; Derrick Clark; Charles City; grandchildren: Sam (Brooke) Siemons, Mina Aghaei, Amir Aghaei, Jeremy & Jessie Moser, James & Amy Levine, Amanda Kmiec and Alexia Clark; great-grandchildren: Ayden, Paige, Kayanna, Chance, Dominic and Noah; sister: Beverly Moser, Greene; brother: Roger (Jeanne) Moser, Charles City, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Helen; two sons, Michael and Delbert; two sisters, Roma Marshall and Ruby Smith; and by one brother in infancy.
