Maurice Rogers

Funeral services were held for Maurice Charles Rogers, age 54, who died at his home Tuesday, March 16, following a long illness. Services were held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, with the Reverend Jacob Roth officiating. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage, where military rites were performed by the American Legion Post 278. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Maurice was a former employee of the street department in Osage. He was a veteran of World War II.

He was born March 23, 1927 in Rudd, Iowa.

Maurice Rogers and Elizabeth Amy Nitardy were married June 30, 1951 at the Sacred Heart Church in Osage.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; three sons, Carol, Owatonna, Minnesota; Timothy, New Hampton, Joseph, Ionia; 10 daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Lynette) Kellogg, Osage; Mrs. James (Nancy) Schacht, Mount Prospect, Illinois; Mrs. Cecil (Kathleen) King, Robins; Mrs. Keith (Rosemary) Stuarte, Keystone Heights, Florida; Mrs. Mark (Theresa) Harcey, Perkinds, Oklahoma; Mrs. Tim (Monica) Bluhm, Charles City; Mrs. Doug (Ruth) Warrington, Osage; and Ann, Betty and Dawn Rogers, all at home; 16 grandchildren and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rogers, Osage.

Also six sisters, Mrs. John (Marie) Boerjan, St. Ansgar; Mrs. Donald (Eileen) Kleckner, Osage; Mrs. John (Monica) Faas, Stacyville; Mrs. Joe (Loraine) Prokepec, Owatonna, Minnesota; Mrs. Bob (Marilyn) Doyle, Melrose, Minnesota; and Mrs. Jack (Kathleen) Angell, Nashua; four brothers, Marvin and Jerry Rogers, Osage; Galen Rogers, Austin, Minnesota; and Brother Damien Rogers, Collegeville, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by one brother Clair Rogers.
