Floyd Lee

Floyd H. Lee, age 87 of Charles City, died Thursday, January 22, 2004, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua with his son-in-law, Jim McAlees, presiding. Music for the service will be provided by Nelda Shepherd as organist and Janice Edson as vocalist. Interment will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Nashua, with Brad Toebe, Curtis Lee, Marty Lee, Lonnie Lee, Jimmy Lee and Tamara Lee as pallbearers. Visitation was 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, January 26, 2004, and will be one hour prior to services today, at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua.

Floyd was born November 8, 1916, in Marathon, Iowa, the son of Frank Russell and Bernice Elizabeth (Beardsley) Lee. He attended school in Clark, S. Dak. Floyd lived and raised his family in Nashua from 1941 through the 1970's. After years of being a carpenter and siding applicator, he worked for Hydrotile in Nashua for 25 years, retiring in 1985. Floyd had lived in Charles City since the death of his wife, Beryl. He married Mildred Steffler in 1993.

Survivors include his wife Mildred; one daughter Barbara and Jim McAlees of Bradenton, Flordia; one son Gary Lee of Plainfield; two step-sons Allen and Linda Steffler of LaGrande, Oregon, and Steven and Lang Steffler of Anchorage, Alaska; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister Izetta Lee of Mora, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; two sons: James Lee and Robert Lee; and four brothers: Donald Lee, Russell Lee, Roy Lee and Fred Lee.

Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua is in charge of arrangements.
