CHARLES CITY, IOWA - William K. Ehling, 90, of New Brighton, Minnesota, and formerly of Charles City, died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Brightondale Assisted Living in New Brighton.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 2, at Grace United Methodist Church, 701 First Ave. in Floyd, with Pastor Martha Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Floyd Grace United Methodist Church.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mabel; a son, Dennis; a brother, Carl; and sisters Mildred Demro and Amelia Miller.

Those left to honor his memory include his sons, Ken and Dean Ehling; special nephew, Clair Demro; sisters Loretta Weiss and Marguerite Shiber; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Fullerton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Charles City, (641) 228-4211, is in charge of the arrangements.

City. William “Bill” K. Ehling, 90, of New Brighton, Minn., and formerly of Charles City, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the Brightondale Assisted Living in New Brighton, Minn.

Bill was born on June 21, 1920, in Charles City, the son of Oscar and Martha (Lefke) Ehling. He was united in marriage to Mabel Harms on June 21, 1940. Bill entered the United States Army in 1994 serving two years during World War II before being honorably discharged. He returned to Charles City where he was employed for White Farm for over 33 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the VFW and the Floyd Grace United Methodist Church. Following his wife’s death in 2003, Bill moved to New Brighton. He had been an 83-year resident of Charles
