CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Thomas John Vollrath,48, of 800 First Ave., died Saturday (Dec. 8, 2001) at the Storm Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kan.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S Main, Charles City. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City, (641) 228-4211.

CHARLES CITY - Thomas Vollrath, 48, of 800 First Ave., Charles City, died Friday (Dec. 7, 2001) at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S. Main in Charles City, with the Rev. Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fullerton Hage Fullerton Home, 401 Blunt St. in Charles City, with visitation continuing one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Thomas was born in Ceylon, Minnesota, on April 1, 1953, the son of John William "Jack" and Anna (Peters) Vollrath. He attended and graduated from Ceylon High School. Thomas then went on to continue his education at the Rochester Institute, graduating with a four-year degree in chemistry.

Thomas enjoyed the little things in life and was a simple man. He liked to golf, hunt for deer and pheasant, and was a jack of all trades. He loved traveling and being with his family. Thomas was a collector, always finding a little treasure in everything.

Thomas will be remembered as a wonderful person, father and friend to his two daughters, Faith-Ann Mae White and her husband, Aaron, and their son, Gage, of Charles City, and Christina Lee Vollrath, of Charles City; one sister, Virginia Hatland, of Doliver, Iowa; and girlfriend, Anna Christine Johnson.

Thomas was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, William and Anna, and wife Toni Vollrath Harris in April of 1993.
