DAVID A. LARSON

NORA SPRINGS - David A. Larson, 60, of Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Nora Springs, died on Monday (Nov. 19, 2001) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, of cancer. His body was cremated.

David was born on Jan. 28, 1941 at Rudd, the son of Vernon and Adelaide (Wamstad) Larson. He attended school in Rudd and graduated from Nora Springs Rock Falls High School in 1959. He attended Mason City Junior College.

He enlisted in the United States Naval Reserves in 1958 and served from April 14, 1962 to Nov. 5, 1964 on the USS Lexington (CVA-16), as a Disbursing Clerk.

David was employed at White Manufacturing Company at Charles City and Jacob E. Decker & Sons and Iowa Beef Packing Company in Mason City as a cattle buyer.

David married Diane Senneff in Mason City on June 19, 1966. The couple moved to Lakeland, Fla. in 1981. He was employed by Montgomery Ward and Tire Kingdom.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Lakeland, Fla.; mother, Adelaide Larson, of Nora Springs; two brothers, Dennis Larson and his wife, Cheryl, of Tucson, Ariz., and Joel Larson and his wife, Jeannine, of Nora Springs; three sisters, Carole and her husband, Roy Sours, of Panora, Ellen and her husband, Stuart White, of Garland, Texas, and Susan and her husband, Daniel Saunders, of Hopkins, Minn.; 10 nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Vernon, in 1992; and a brother, Jerome, in 2000.
