JOHN ARTHUR NOTT

CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Funeral services for John Arthur Nott, 85, who died Monday afternoon at a Charles City nursing home after being in failing health for the past five years, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hage Funeral Home here. Burial will be in West Side Cemetery, Marble Rock.

Survivors include three sons: Lloyd Nott of Floyd; and William and Warren Nott, both of Charles City; three daughters: Mrs. Bernard Tynan of Charles City: Mrs. Wilbert Nixt of Greene and Mrs. Kenneth Quade of rural Charles City; 2 brothers, Wesley Nott of Kenmore, North Dakota, and William Nott of Newport Beach, California; and one sister, Mrs. Elmer Ott of Minot, North Dakota.

John Nott dies Monday

John Arthur Nott, 85, a resident of the Chautauqua Guest Home since May of 1964 and of Charles City since 1936, died Monday afternoon at the Guest Home. He had been In failing health for the past five years.

John Nott was born in Ontario, Canada, on December 12, 1881 the son of John and Mary Burton Nott He received his education in Edinburg, N.D. On February 9, 1910 in Marble Rock he married Eva Ritter. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors Include three sons: Lloyd of Floyd; William and Warren both of Charles City; three daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Gladys Tynan of Charles City; Mrs. Wilbert (June) Nixt of Greene and Mrs. Kenneth (Ethel) Quade of rural route 3, 17 grandchildren; two brothers Wesley of Kenmore, North Dakota; and William of Newport Beach, Calif.; and one sister Mrs. Elmer Ott of Minot, North Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1950, one sister, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hage Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Trost, pastor of the St. John Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in West Side Cemetery in Marble Rock.

The Hage Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
