Funeral services for Leona M. Enabnit, 77, of Marble Rock will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Roseville with Rev. Msgr. Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Marble Rock.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Roseville Gym with a Public Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services on Saturday.

Leona Marie Klimesh was born February 12, 1934, in Fort Atkinson, Winneshiek Co, Iowa the daughter of Lewis and Anna (Wandas) Klimesh and died April 12, 2011, at the Star Home in Charles City. She grew up on a farm east of Protivin. Leona received her education at a Catholic School in Protivin and graduated in 1952 from Rudolphinum High School in Protivin, Iowa. After graduation she moved to Chicago where she worked as a flight attendant for one year. She then started nurses training at Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids graduating in 1956 with her RN.

She was united in marriage to Bob Enabnit on October 27, 1956, in Protivin. To this union they were blessed with five children. She worked at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital for the next 30 years as she raised her children.

Leona loved to play cards and was active in several card clubs. She spent many holidays playing cards with her grandkids. She was a huge sports spectator and attended many sporting events to watch her children and grandchildren. Leona enjoyed traveling whenever she could and took several bus trips. She grew a large garden when her children were home and did a lot of canning. Leona also enjoyed working in the flower beds and doing yard work. She was an avid Hawkeye fan and watched them on TV whenever she could. She also enjoyed attending shows at NIACC, and going to movies. When she had extra time she liked to read.

She is survived by her five children: Mark Enabnit of Marble Rock, Monica (Mark) Heard of Rockford, Melinda (Mike) Kubik of Charles City, Marvin (Liz) Enabnit of Marble Rock, Michelle (Stacey) Jones of Sheffield; 11 grandchildren: Jessica (Tony) Rother, Erin (Roger Uker) Enabnit, Kate Enabnit, Amy (Kevin) Pearce, Tyler Christopherson, Travis Christopherson, Megan Kubik, Dustin Enabnit, Paige (John Martin) Enabnit, Corey Jones, Jenny Jones; two great-grandchildren: Landon Rother and one on the way; 6 step children: Stephanie (Greg) Dingel, Andy
(Jamie) Heard, Brady Heard, Kaci Heard, Michelle Kubik, Cody Kubik; two step great-grandchildren: Riley Dingel and Madison Heard.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Anna Klimesh.
