BESSIE (MRS. RODNEY) JOSLIN

Mason City - Bessie (Mrs. Rodney) Joslin, 74, of 833 Seventh St. S.E., died Monday (Jan. 22, 2001) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, with the Rev. Kathy Graves, hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Bessie Lou Mahnesmith Joslin was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Charles City, the daughter of Clarence and Viola (Klock) Mahnesmith. She received her education in Charles City schools.

In 1955 she and Rodney Joslin were married. He died in 1998. Bessie enjoyed her animals and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Living family members include a sister, Frances (Mrs. Claude) Moody of Dumont; nieces and nephews, Loren Mahnesmith and his wife, Barb, and children, Mitch, Mindy and Michele, of Nora Springs, Randy Mahnesmith and his wife, Tracy, and children, Lindsey, Seth and Shelby, Robin Mahnesmith and children, Bobby, Melissa and Britney, all of Mason City, Rick Mahnesmith and children, Jason, Amber and Cameron of Greene, and Lynette Paulsen and husband, DuWayne, and daughter, Tonia, of Rockford; great-great-nieces, Mercedes and Lexus Tynan of Rockford; and special friends, Thea and Ed Johnson of Clarksville, Bill and Diane Byerly of Mason City, LeAnn and Sean Gilam of Manly and Donna Ernst of Mason City; sister-in-law and husband, Beverly and John Luttrell of Dougherty; and her dog, Bimbo

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Ray, Marv and Loren; two sisters, Judy, her twin, and Alice; and stepfather, Robert Baldwin.

Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of North Iowa, Mason City site.
