Gloria A. Young, 59, of Charles City, died Saturday morning, February 26, 2011, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Gloria Young will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Sister M. Diana Blong, PBVM, Pastoral Associate of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.

Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Gloria Ann White was born March 4, 1951, in Charles City, the daughter of Robert and Bernice (Backer) White. She attended school in Charles City and Mason City. On July 21, 1973, she was united in marriage to Robert Young at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Her interests included camping, garage sales, Bingo and going to casinos. Gloria loved everyone’s children and at one time or another raised all of her nieces and nephews.

Living family members include her two sons, Robert Young and Christopher Young both of Charles City; two grandchildren, Alex Young and Lakasha Hutchinson both of Charles City; three brothers, Thomas (Kathy) White of Nevada, Missouri, Robert (Edna) White of Floyd and John (Elizabeth) White of Floyd; and sister, Mary (Rick) Nauman of Floyd.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; parents; husband; sister, Theresa White.
