CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Leroy Carl Kapping, 32, Charles City, died of gun shot wounds Monday afternoon while enroute to a Rochester, Minnesota, hospital for treatment. Charles City police said the wounds were self-inflicted. Kapping was found in his, home Monday by his wife. The weapon used was a shotgun.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Grossmann-Hage Funeral Home here. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. August Hartkopp, Charles City, wife, two sons, Jerry and Steven, and three daughters, Connie, Vicky and Debra. Also surviving are two brothers, Fred, El Paso, Tex., and Delbert, Nashua, and two sisters, Mrs. Joe Jacobs and Ruth Kapping, both of Charles City.
