CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Walter Rex Horne, 88, of 1010 Freeman St., died Sunday (Jan. 13, 2002) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 100 Chapel Lane, Charles City, with the Rev. Ruth Yeaton officiating. Interment will be held in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday.

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Walter Rex Horne, 88, of Charles City, died Sunday January 13, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City of natural causes.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Sherman of Charles City and Sharon Tollefson of Cedar Rapids; a son, Jerry of Eugene, Oregon; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Nelson of Charles City; and a brother, Richard Darlene of Lompoc, California.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie; and two brothers, Brad and Wardel.

Services were 10:30 a.m. today at First Baptist Church, with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery both in Charles City.

Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, Charles City was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Horne retired as a machinist from White Farm Equipment, Charles City and he was a U.S. Army veteran.
