Local Church For
Mrs. Henry Salier

Succumbed Early Friday;
Husband and Two Sons
Are Among Survivors

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Salier, 47, were held at St. Luke's American Lutheran church in Nora Springs at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, with the pastor, The Rev. W.F. Pfeffer, in charge. Mrs. Salier died at her home west of Nora Springs at 12:15 a.m. Friday, July 6. She had been in declining health for some time and was taken seriously ill about three weeks ago.

Anna Dorothea Thiele was born August 8, 1897, at Forreston, Illinois, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Thiele. In infancy she was baptized by the late Dr. Max Frischel. The family moved to Briton, South Dak., and from there in 1907 to Hawkeye, Iowa. Here she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She moved to Rockford with her parents in 1912.

She attended school at Hawkeye and also Wartburg Normal college at Waverly.

On February 20, 1917,she was married to Henry Salier of Shannon, Illinois, at Rockford. Two children were born to their union, Robert and Roland. After a year spent at Shannon, Ill., the couple moved to Nora Springs, and this has been their home ever since, with the exception of three years spent at Roseville.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Salier; two sons, Robert and Roland, all of Nora Springs; two brothers, Fred Thiele of Nora Springs, and Everet Thiele of Rockford; two sisters, Mrs. Simon Arjes (Agnes) of Freeport, Illinois, Johanna Thiele of Rockford; and a host of relatives and friends.

Casket bearers at the services were Martin Hinrichsen, William Mogk, Carl Petersen, Fred Ueker, Lloyd Gashel and John Christiansen. Burial was in Park cemetery. Mrs. Roy Krupka and Mrs. Henry Buckman sang "He Leadeth Me" and "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus". They were accompanied by Mrs. Carl Crowell, organist. The many beautiful floral tributes were arranged by Mrs. Martin Hinrichsen, Mrs. Carl Petersen and Fred Ueker.
