CLAIRE AUGUSTUS WRAGE

RUDD, IOWA - Claire Augustus Wrage, 88, of rural Rudd, died Saturday (Sept. 18, 1999) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, with the Rev. R. Dawson Tornes and the Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Rock Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. on Monday at the Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.

Claire was born on December 26, 1910 in the Floyd Township, Floyd County, the son of Gus and Nina (Brown) Wrage. Claire was married to Stella Peterson in December of 1937 at the Little Brown Church, in Nashua. He farmed his entire life and also operated a backhoe and excavating business.

He is survived by four children, Robert Wrage and his wife, Andrea, of Osage; Marianne Benttine and her husband, Donald, of Osage; Jerald "Butch" Wrage and his wife, Linda, of Rudd; and Everett Wrage and his wife, Doris, of Rudd; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Evelyn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella, in October of 1952; two brothers, Everett and Russell; and two children, Irene and Claire Jr.
