MARLIN GENE BISTLINE

NORA SPRINGS - Marlin Gene Bistline, 64, of 214 First St. N.W., Mason City, died Wednesday (Aug. 4, 1999) at the Faith Lutheran Home, Osage.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye St., Nora Springs, with the Rev. Arthur Hill, of First United Methodist Church, Osage, officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs and will continue one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Memorials may be made to the Stain Glass Window Fund at the Osage First United Methodist Church or the Nora Springs Fire Department in memory of Marlin G. Bistline.

Marlin Gene Bistline was born Dec. 16, 1934, in Mason City, son of Paul and Fleta (Tibbits) Bistline. He grew up in the Rudd and Osage area and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1953.

Marlin was a self-employed trucker, retiring because of his illness. He loved to put puzzles together and spend time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include two sisters, Marilyn McDonald and her husband, Dale, of McCleansburg, Illinois, and Ardelys Newton and her husband, Neil, of Osage; one brother, Larry Bistline and his wife, Pat, of Runnells; nine nieces and nephews; and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his twin sister, Marlys in infancy.
