Funeral services for Paul Sargent, 89, 801 3rd Avenue, Floyd, were held Tuesday, May 27 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hage funeral Home. Rev. Charlotte Mallott, Pastor of the Floyd Grace United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery, Floyd.

Mr. Sargent died Friday evenings, May 23 in the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage.

Paul Sargent was born in Strawberry Point, on December 24, 1986** the son of Emery and Julia Ophelia Waite Sargent. He received his education in the Strawberry Point Schools. On October 21, 1925 in his wife’s parents home between Charles City and Floyd he married Natalia Kimball. The couple had been married over 60 years.

Mr. Sargent was a retired farmer and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd.

Survivors include his wife Natalia, Floyd; one son, Steven Sargent, Floyd; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Kimpston and Mrs. Lavera Fink both of Strawberry Point; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
