NORA SPRINGS - Gladys H. (Sheka) Dailey, 89, of 315 Seminary, died Friday (May 26, 2000) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Church, Rockford, with the Rev. Leo Riley officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs, with a rosary at 7 p.m.

NORA SPRINGS - Gladys H. (Sheka) Dailey, 89, of 315 Seminary, Nora Springs, died Friday (May 26, 2000) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Church, Rockford, with the Rev. Leo Riley officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs. with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Gladys was born Jan. 29, 1911, in Union Township, rural Worth County, the daughter of William Henry and Anna (Reindl) Sheka. She graduated from Manly High School and then continued her education at Hamilton Business College, Mason City.

Gladys worked as a clerk at the Worth County Recorders Office in Northwood and then was a postal clerk in the Nora Springs Post Office from 1946 until her retirement in 1972.

Gladys married Lloyd Hagen in April of 1941 and he was killed in action in January of 1945 during World War II. She then married Robert (Bob) W. Dailey in June 1949. Gladys enjoyed being around her friends, gardening, card clubs and bowling. She was a member of Holy Name Church, Rockford.

Gladys is survived by her son, Harley Hagen, and his wife, Rosalee, of Marshalltown; three grandsons, John Hagen and his wife, Lisa, of Bellevue, Neb., and their three children, Janea, Macy and Peyton Hagen; Mark Hagen and his wife, Kelly, of West Des Moines; and Patrick Hagen of Denver, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three sisters, Emma Sheka, Wilma Clifford and Irene Rock; and one brother, Harley Sheka.
