KATHARINE A. EWEN

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Katharine A. Ewen, 84, formerly of 49 Cedar Terrace S., died Monday (May 8, 2000) at the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with the Rev. Brian Shepley and Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., with a 3:30 p.m. rosary by St. Mary's Circle and a parish vigil scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

Found in the 1940 census living in Ward 3 of Charles City, Iowa. She was 24 years old and single. It spelled her name as Catherine, the daughter of Andrew and Celia Ewen. See sheet 25A of the Ward 3, Charles City census. She was listed with parents and siblings: Robert, Lawrence, Irene and Eleanor.
