Beverly J. Farrell, 66, of Clinton, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 27, at Prince of Peace Parish Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Sean Lawrence, Kevin Hilgendorf, Derek Riessen, Nick Lawrence, Chris Powers, and Colin Sullivan. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Beverly Jean Stewart was born on January 30, 1944 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Raymond and Lois (Elwood) Stewart. She was a 1962 graduate of Charles City High School. She then attended La James Beauty School in Mason City, Iowa.

Bev married Earl Farrell on June 19, 1965 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, Iowa. They moved to Clinton in 1966 and Bev worked as a clerk at Petersen’s Department Store. She later was employed as a clerk at Eagles Grocery Store for 26 years at the 13th Avenue North and Lincolnway store until retiring in 1998.

Bev was a member of Prince of Peace Parish. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Bev is survived by her husband of 45 years: Earl of Clinton; four daughters: Andrea (Sean) Lawrence of Camanche, Nancy (David) Smith of Clearwater, Florida, Lisa (Kevin) Hilgendorf of Waukee, Iowa, and Katie (Derek) Riessen of Clinton; 12 grandchildren: Nicholas (Cherie Pauline) Lawrence, Stacy (Chris) Powers, Megan (Colin Sullivan) Lawrence, Jordan Lawrence, Christopher Smith, Michael Smith, Hailey Hilgendorf, Dylan Hilgendorf, Logan Hilgendorf, Joshua Riessen, Caleb Riessen, and Emma Riessen; one great-granddaughter: Taylor Powers; and one brother: Craig (Pam) Stewart of Charles City, Iowa.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents.
