ROCKFORD, IOWA - Helen M. Ward, 82, of Rockford, died Saturday, May 4, 1996, at the home of her daughter in Swea City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Rockford, with the Rev. Roger Katz officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in New Hampton.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Schumburg Funeral Home, Rockford, with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.
Helen was married to Clinton A. Ward on September 14, 1932, in St. Charles, Minnesota. She lived in Rockford for 50 years, was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Helen is survived by three daughters, Myrna (Mrs. Eino) Hirv of Seaford, Va.; Hazel Kollman of Gurnee, Illinois, and Connie Perry of Swea City; nine grandchildren, Pam Dzick of Clear Lake; Kristie Hilliard of Gloucester, Va.; Kelly McCoy of Sevierville, Tennessee; Craig Kollman of Eden Prairie, Minn.; Kelly Kollman of Arlington, Va.; Eric Ward of Columbus, Ohio; Kristen Ward of Ithaca, N.Y.; Tim Perry of Iowa City; and Nathan Perry of Swea City; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Walter Bateman of Cresco and Leonard Bateman of West Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton; her parents, Elmer E. Bateman and Ellen E. (McGee) Bateman; two sons, Gary and Tim; a sister, Hazel Klass; two brothers, Kenneth and Raymond Bateman; and two grandsons, Kevin and David Ward.
