CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Mary F. (Mrs. Junior) Burton, 82, of 2123 Gar Drive, Charles City, died Saturday (Nov. 6, 1999) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City, following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, U.S. Highway 18 and Clark Street, Charles City, with the Rev. Stanley J. Hayek officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, south of Charles City.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt Street, Charles City, with a 7 p.m. parish vigil scriptural wake service followed by a rosary led by the Immaculate Conception Rosary Society, and visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Mary F. (Mrs. Junior) Burton, 82, of 2123 Gar Drive, died Saturday (Nov. 6, 1999) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City, following a lengthy illness.

A funeral Mass for Mary Burton will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. today at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, U.S. Highway 18 and Clark Street, with Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek, officiating. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Memory Gardens, south of Charles City.

Visitation was held on Monday at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City. There will be further visitation one hour prior to services today at the church.

Mrs. Burton, the former Mary Frances Trnka, was born May 19, 1917 in Bonne Terre, Mo., the daughter of Florian and Anna (Belznik) Trnka. On Feb. 18, 1938 in Osage, Mary married Leo Pint. The couple later divorced. On March 23, 1957, in Charles City, Mary was united in marriage to Junior Lee Burton. The couple made their home in Charles City. Mr. Burton died May 8, 1977, in Oogalala, Neb. For over 20 years, Mrs. Burton served as the deputy city clerk for the City of Charles City, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Rosary Society of the Church. She was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge (a Bohemian fraternal order). She was a former member of the American Business and Professional Women's Association in Charles City.

She loved to watch all sports, but she especially loved to bowl and had belonged to the bowling leagues in Charles City. Mary also enjoyed flower gardening and raising tomatoes.

Those thankful for sharing Mary's life include her three sisters, Mrs. Stella Petra, of Moline, Ill., Mrs.Elsie Kloberdanz, of Waterloo and Mrs. Hedie Groh, of Manly; two stepsons and their wives, Rick and Barb Burton, of Charles City and Rodney and Judy Burton, of Orem, Utah; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
