Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 31 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd, for Deborah J. McFarland, 28, a former Floyd resident, who died Wednesday, December 28, 1983 in a traffic accident near Gary Indiana.

The Rev. Charlotte Mallott, pastor, officiated at the service. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Floyd. The Hauser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The former Deborah Roberts was born June 16, 1955, in Mineral Wells, Texas, the daughter of Dale and Dolores (Sigler) Roberts.

In 1972 she received all state track recognition as a member of the Charles City 400-meter shuttle relay team. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Deborah was preceded in death by her father, a daughter, Tonya, paternal grandparents, and her maternal grandfather.

She is survived by a son, Dale McFarland of Osage; her mother, Mrs. Dolores Roberts of Floyd; a step-brother, Bryan Wygle of Fairborn, Ohio, and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Viola Sigler, of Floyd.
