FRANCIS SCHWEIZER

ROCKFORD, IOWA - Francis Schweizer, 78, of Rockford, died Thursday, July 1, 1999, at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Rudd United Methodist Church, Rudd, with the Rev. Richard Pippert officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Francis Schweizer, son of William Brandau and Dottie Marie (Krambeer) Schweizer, was born June 12, 1921 at Rudd, Iowa. He was a United States Army Veteran and was a farmer. On June 15, 1946 he married Joyce Witzel in Rudd.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Alice Schweizer, a brother Paul James Schweizer, and a sister, Lois Huxsol.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; 4 sons, James Schweizer of Centerville, Iowa, Loren Schweizer of Harrison, Missouri, Merlyn Schweizer of Rudd, Iowa, and Craig Schweizer of Floyd, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and a sister, Gertrude Smith of Rudd, Iowa.

Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Rudd, Iowa. Hauser Funeral Home of Charles City, Iowa assisted the family with the arrangements.
