RUDD, IOWA — Bruce Eric Brandau, 42, of 1840 120th, Rudd, died Thursday (Oct. 15, 1998) at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn., of injuries received from an accident on his farm.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at the Eden Presbyterian Church, 3105 Glass Ave., rural Rudd, with the Rev. John Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Eden Presbyterian Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Bruce was born March 12, 1956 in Osage, the son of George and Joan D. (Bascombe) Brandau. Bruce graduated from Osage High School in 1975.
On Dec. 8, 1979, he was united in marriage to Susie Holmes, of Mason City, at the Eden Presbyterian Church. They resided and farmed in rural Rudd.
Bruce was an active member of the Eden Presbyterian Church. He loved farming, his family and winning the game Air Barow, which he played with family and friends.
He was an avid fan of sports events, band, chorus and any activities his family participated in. He also enjoyed his card club, telling stories and a debate with anyone.
He is survived by his wife, Susie; and three sons, Tom, 17, Tim, 14 and Travis, 8; his mother, Joan D. Brandau, of Osage; one sister, Judy Maas, of Cedar Falls; six brothers, Steven Brandau and his wife, Jean, of Cedar Falls; Russ Brandau, of Osage; Craig Brandau and his wife, Colette, of Mason City; Kenneth Brandau and his wife, Linda, of Rudd; Al Brandau, of Rudd; and Dave Brandau, of Burnsville, Minn.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Brandau; and a nephew, Charlie Brandau.
