The family suggests memorials to the Janese L. Wing Memorial Fund.

Janese was born in Charles City on Aug. 12, 1948, to Clifton "Butch" and Virginia "Jiggs" Nickerson, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She spent her childhood in Charles City and Mason City before moving to Fort Dodge and graduating from Fort Dodge High School.

Janese married Bruce Wing Jan. 15, 1967 at the Little Brown Church, in Nashua and to this union were born two daughters. Janese and Bruce would later divorce.

Janese was employed by Hy-Vee Floral and will be long time remembered for her talents decorating almost anything, whether it be a room, a house, a wedding reception, or just a little wooden bird house. She loved people and was always willing to go that extra mile to make people happy. Janese also adored animals and her loving care for the multitudes of animals she adopted out from the Humane Society will never be forgotten.

Her many hours of work at the Community Kitchen will be remembered fondly by everyone who worked with her and was served by her, because she made everyone she encountered feel special and very dear to her. Her talent with a calligraphy pen will be missed by St. James's new mothers, new brides and grooms, confirmants, and anyone losing a loved one.

Janese was preceded in death by her father, Butch Nickerson.

She will be sorely missed by survivors, including her mother, Virginia Nickerson of Mason City; and her two daughters, Kim Tilkes and husband, Aaron, of Mason City, and Kris Wade and husband, Jon, of Houston, Texas. Janese also has adorable twin grandbabies, Bailey and Brady Tilkes who will greatly miss her loving touch. She is also survived by her former husband, Bruce Wing, of Minneapolis, Minn.
