MICHAEL E. CANNON

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Michael E. Cannon, 46, of Nora Springs, died Saturday (July 3, 1999) at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Michael Schueller officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City.

Michael Earl Cannon was born Nov. 14, 1952, at Mason City, the son of Earl and Clarice (Gorkowski) Cannon. He graduated from Mason City High School and later graduated from Mankato (Minn.) State College. He owned and operated his own business, AVM, in Cedar Rapids for several years. Michael enjoyed watching Viking games, especially when they were playing the Bears. He also liked planning woodworking projects.

He loved spending time with his two sons, Alan and Andrew, especially on their trips to Texas where they spent time at many museums and historical sites. He was a past member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and also the Hemophilia of Iowa Association.

Survivors include his two sons, Alan and Andrew Cannon, both of Traer; his mother, Clarice Cannon, of Mason City; three sisters, Diane Trimble and her husband, Jim, of Mason City, Kay Ostmo and her husband, Ken, of Tulsa, Okla., and Beverly Ostmo and her husband, David, of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father in 1993.
