CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Florence Greenzweig, 83, of Charles City died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 26, at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St. in Charles City, with Pastor Debra Lincoln officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home and again one hour prior to services on Monday. Florence was born on April 18, 1927, in rural Nashua, the daughter of Albert and Amanda (Harnish) Heise. She grew up in the Charles City area and graduated from Charles City High School in 1945.

She was united in marriage to Virgil "Shorty" Greenzweig on July 21, 1946. Florence enjoyed working on the farm with her husband.

Florence was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Birthday Club.
She liked playing cards, gardening and shopping with friends. She also enjoyed being around her family, whether it be spending time with the grandkids or cooking big meals for family gatherings.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; Virgil, her husband of 64 years, on July 1, 2010; daughter, Dawn Marie Greenzweig; brothers, Wilber and Harold Heise; and sister, Lucille Venz.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Galen (Charlotte) Greenzweig, of Charles City; grandchildren, Schae, Grant and Jacob "Shorty" Greenzweig; sister, Bernice Troge; sister-in-law, Joyce Greenzweig; and many nieces and nephews.
