On January 1, 1941, Earl was united in marriage to Ardis Wood in Albert Lea, Minn. In 1942 the couple moved to Rockford, where Earl opened his own barbershop. For 40 years, until he retired in 1979, Earl shared and told many stories to friends, neighbors and family as they had their ears lowered.
