NORA SPRINGS, IOWA — Keith Coe, 79, of 20076 250th Street, died Saturday (Dec. 12, 1998) at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Mark Culham of Hanford Community Church officiating. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and on Tuesday morning until the service begins at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Keith Coe Memorial Fund.

Keith was born July 29, 1919, in Eau Claire, Wis., the son of Wayne and Ruth Wharam Coe.

Keith served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Myrtle Anderson on Oct. 12, 1946, in Mason City.

Keith farmed in the Mason City area for many years and also worked at the sugar beet plant.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening and flower beds, and playing cards with friends. Keith was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.

Keith is survived by his wife, Myrtle, of Nora Springs; two daughters, Mary Ann Cornick and her husband, Lee, of Mason City, and Kathy Coe, of Mason City; a son, Ronald D. Coe, of Mason City; five grandchildren; two sisters, Elda Theilen of Rockford and Ruth Ann Scholl of Mason City; three brothers, James L. Coe and his wife, Dorothy, of Parkers Prairie, Minn., Dick Coe and his wife, Margaret, of Mason City, and Duane D. Coe of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Jerry, Donald and Steven; one daughter, Jane Marie; one granddaughter, Tammy Cornick; and one brother, Ellis.
