NORA SPRINGS, IOWA — Sydney John Wilkins, 66, died early Monday at his farm home four miles
north of Nora Springs. He had been suffering from heart trouble for the past six years, and
had had three - paralytic strokes. His death occurred at the farm which he had owned for the past 15 years.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in
Nora Springs. The Rev. Vernon Overturf will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.

He was married to Engel R. Rierhan at Hampton December 8, 1920. They settled near Nora Springs
and he had farmed here ever since.

Mrs. Wilkins died September 14, 1948. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one
grandson.

Survivors are four sons: Loren and Sydney Wilkins, of Nora Springs, Harold Wilkins of Plymouth and Alva Wilkins of Mason City; two daughters, Verniece Wilkins of Nora Springs and Mrs. William (Verdene) Ingersoll of Plymouth; ten grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Grace) King and Mrs. Guy (Genevieve) Walstead, both of Dixon, Illinois, and Mrs. J. C. (Sarah) of Longview, Texas.
