Wednesday services for Varner, 50

Fredrick Earl Varner, 50, Northwood, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002 at his home of heart failure.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at the Kensett Cemetery, with the Rev. Sam Hernes of Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett, officiating.

Visitation will be held from noon until 1:45 pm on Wednesday at the Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 Spring Street, Manly.

Conner Colonial Chapel of Northwood is in charge of the arrangements.

Fred was born March 18, 1951 in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Levi "Pat" and Jean (Broege) Varner. He married Debbie Prince on Nov. 23, 1974 in Saugus, CA. They moved to Kensett to raise their family, where they owned and operated the Lion's Den Bar. Fred loved to spend time with his friends and family at the cabin in Waterville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing pool. Fred especially loved spending time with his grandkids.

Fred is survived by his wife, Debbie, of Northwood; his daughter, Jami, of Mason City; three sons, Fred and his wife, Sue, of Kensett and Danny and Matt of Northwood; three grandchildren, Devin, Trevor, and Gavin; his mother, Jean Varner of Manly; one brother, Lee Varner of Kensett; one sister, Debbie Orth and her husband, Paul, of Kensett; three nieces and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, who also died of a heart attack at age 50.

NORTHWOOD - Fredrick Earl Varner, 50, of 1175 430th St., Northwood, died Sunday (Jan. 6, 2002) at his home of heart failure.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kensett Cemetery, with the Rev. Sam Hernes of Bethany Lutheran Church of Kensett, officiating.
