Fred Smith, 58, dies
Following heart attackOSAGE, IOWA — Fred Smith, 58, died Thursday- night at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital where he had been taken Monday after suffering a heart attack. Funeral services are set tentatively for Monday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Floyd** Cemetery.
Born in June, 1901, to Nelson and Lillian Smith he was graduated at Nashua, from the Nashville High School. He came to Osage in July, 1933, and was married to Mrs. Edna Armstrong Meyers. He had lived in Osage since that time and was employed by the Falk Construction Co.
Surviving are his wife, his father at Nashua; four brothers, Glenn, Nashua; Jerry, Burlington; Floyd, Oren, and Arthur, Waterloo.
