(DEATH NOTICE)

LT. PAUL KINNEY DIES IN ACTION

CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- Dr. and Mrs. D. A. Kinney Thursday morning received a telegram from J. A. Ulio, adjutant general, Washington, D.C., which stated that their younger son, 1st Lt. Paul Kinney, had been killed in action in the Pacific ocean area.

The telegram stated that the date of his death was unknown.

Lt. Kinney was in the army air force and the last his parents heard from him he was based in India.

Lt. Paul A. Kinney and bride, the former Eleanor Wells of St. Anne, Illinois, arrived Saturday for a 10-day leave at the home of Paul's parents, Dr. and Mrs. D. A. Kinney. The couple was married August 1, at the First Methodist church in Clovis, New Mexico., where Lt. Kinney is stationed.

Mrs. Kinney is a registered nurse, having graduated from St. Mary's hospital at Kankakee, Illinois and will practice her profession for the duration.
