CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Funeral services will be at the Hauser funeral home Friday at 3 p.m., for Walter C. Blunt, 65, who died suddenly Wednesday of a heart attack at the Elks club, where he was employed as night watchman. He had slight attacks before.
Also during the last few days had been serving as an extra policeman in the absence of one of the regular force; for, several years he had served as special policeman, and for some time was employed as a guard at the Oliver Corp., and he was a member of the Masonic lodge.
He was born to Hezekiah and Elizabeth McCauley Blunt in Charles City, Mar. 9, 1879. When he completed his school course he started farming on the old Blunt home place. He also operated a dairy business and had milk routes into Charles City along with his farm business.
On October 12, 1910, he married Ella May McCauley, at Charles City. His wife preceded him in death several years ago.
He leaves two daughters, Helen McCoy, Des Moines, and Mrs. Mary Aurand, Charles City; two brothers, Barney B. Blunt, and Grover C. Blunt, both of Charles City, and three grandchildren.
Three brothers and two sisters, Charles R. Blunt, Hezekiah Blunt, Earnest Blunt, Mary C. Brown and Bertha E. Genung, preceded him in death.
