Dorothy M. Edwards, 84, of Rudd, died Thursday (March 28, 1996) at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S. Kentucky Ave., with the Rev. Miles Grismore officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be given to the Faith Baptist Church in her memory.

Dorothy M. Edwards was born Aug. 18, 1911, in Palo Alto, the daughter of Otto and Cecil (Rankin) Hansen. She attended schools in Palo Alto. Dorothy lived in California for a number of years during wartime, then returned to Mason City in the 1950s.

She married Edward Edwards Aug. 31, 1968, at Curlew.

The Edwards moved to Rudd in 1969. In 1976 they moved to Waterloo where they managed apartments for 10 years, then returned to live in Rudd in 1986. Dorothy had also worked for Damon's Department Store in Mason City.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church where she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at the age of 51. Dorothy also enjoyed doing things for others.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Edwards of Rudd; stepdaughters, Arlene Schlosser of Ventura, Calif., and Beverly Bartlett of Stockton, Calif.; stepdaughter-in-law, Mary Ann Rouse of Mallard, several stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Lund of Cylinder, and Bessie Schutz of Denver, Colo.
