In 1840 she was married to August Daake. After the death of her first husband, she remarried in 1854 her present grieving husband Wilhelm Herbrechtsmeyer. In 1865 the family came to this country and lived first in Freeport, Ill. Here she became acquainted with the Bisch. Methodist Church and joined in 1866 to assist Br. E. R. Irmscher in his work.

In 1870 the family came to Iowa and settled in Flood Creek, Floyd Co. and joined our community there. She lived in Charles City in her old age. Even though she could not regularly visit church, she was true to her faith all through her last illness. She had a strong desiree to die and be with god. Her last words were "Dear God come help me." She died on 8 December 1893.

Her aging husband, three sons and one daughter believe her to be at eternal peace. Her body was buried in the cemetery at Flood Creek Cemetery.
