Charles City – Fred Stoeber, 82, died Tuesday at a nursing home here.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hauser Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Robert Robinson of Central United Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Masonic rites will be conducted at Hauser Funeral Home at 8 p.m. Thursday by St. Charles Lodge 141 AF & AM. He was a 50-year Mason.

Born June 12, 1889, in Floyd County, he was the son of Henry and Henrietta Herbrechtsmeier Stoeber. He was married to Ida Heitz in Charles City Oct. 21, 1921. He was employed at the George P. Smith Company until retiring.

Surviving are a brother, Ralph, Ames; and a sister, Sarah Ortmeyer, Vancouver, Wash. He was preceded in death by his wife and five brothers.
