Mattie Kelly, 84, of Charles City, died Sunday, January 10, 2010, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Memorial services for Mattie Kelly will be held at a later date.

Mattie Mae Burgess Kelly was born April 11, 1925, at Kingstree, S.C., the daughter of William and Sarah (Oliver) Burgess. She received her education at Kingstree. Mattie married Carl Kelly in 1952. She worked for many years as a housekeeper in nursing homes.

Living family members include four children, Carlean Burgess of Lubbock, Tex., Leonard Kelly of Brooklyn, N.Y., Allen (Brenda) Burgess of Osage and Michael Burgess of Brooklyn, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Robert Burgess; a brother and a sister.
