OSTEEN, FLORIDA - Robert “Bob” A. Learn, 81, of 1075 Whispering Creek Way, Osteen, Florida, and formerly of Charles City, Iowa, died Saturday, August 4, 2007, at the Deltona Health Care Center, Deltona, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2007, at New Life Community Church, 1960 Gilbert St., in Charles City, with Bruce Robertson conducting. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Charles City. The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St. in Charles City. The visitation will continue Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. Those wishing to extend memorials or expressions of sympathy may direct them to the family, in C/O of his daughter, Sharon Clinton, 1385 Liberty Ave., Colwell, IA 50620. Robert Aaron Learn was born August 4, 1926 in Colesburg, Iowa, to John M. and Dorothy A. (Merrill) Learn. He grew up in Floyd County, Iowa, and attended and graduated from the Nashua High School. Following high school Bob was united in marriage to Dorothy F. Sweet and to this union they raised seven children. Bob drove semi trucks for many years until he began working for the Floyd County road crew. Bob retired in 1987. Several years later he and Dorothy moved to Florida as “snow birds.”

After Dorothy passed away in 1992, Bob remained in Florida and began working on a horse ranch, he retired again several months later. He enjoyed working with animals and collecting eagles, iron toys and pink panthers.

Grateful for having had the privilege of sharing in Bob’s life are his four children, Sharon Clinton of Colwell, Ramona Hauser of Osteen, Florida, Shelley Haught of Mt. Dora, Florida, Patrick Learn of Colwell; 21 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; his brother, Donald Learn of Watertown, So. Dak.; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Bob in death are his parents, John M. and Dorothy A. (Merrill) Learn; his wife, Dorothy F. (Sweet) Learn in October of 1992; two daughters, Virginia Kiefer in August of 1982 and Rebecca Patrie in August of 2003; one son, John A. Learn in February 2006; a one son-in-law, Gary Hauser in July 2007; three grandchildren, Ricky, Tori and Peter.
