Highway Employee Dies
Near Floyd Weighing Station[ COURIER NEWS SERVICE ]
CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Max William Fritsche, 48, died Tuesdav afternoon after suffering a heart attack near the weighing station on Highways 18-218 between Charles City and Floyd.
He was employed by the Highway Commission and was engaged in the removal of a snow fence at the time he suffered the heart attack.
He was born in Charles City and attended Charles City schools. Prior to being employed by the Highway Commission he worked for the Illinois Central Railroad.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. William Fritsche; four brothers, Leon and Verle Fritsche, all of Charles City; Claremont, stationed with the Army at Okinawa, and James stationed with the Air Force in the Philippines, and three sisters, Florence Frische, Charles City; Mrs. Floyd Hutchins, Bluffton, Ohio, and Mrs. Melvin Shures, Floyd.
Grossmann-Hage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements pending word from the two brothers in service.
