John Nelson Luster, 56, Thursday night in Cedar Valley hospital here following a short illness. He had been a patient in the hospital for about eight hours before his death.

He was born on February 16, 1890, at Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and came to Iowa at the age of 23.

He married Mary Louise Davis at Clarinda on Dec. 24, 1915; and her death occurred there. Six children were born to the union.

Mr. Luster came to Charles City in 1928 and had been employed by the lowa State highway Commission 18 years.

He married Lila Reynolds on August 18, 1939.

He leaves his widow; five children: Perry, Chicago; Mrs. Pauline Schubert, Minneapolis, Minn.; Harold, Charles City; Loren, Sebastopol, California, and Darlene, Washington, D.C.; and two grandchildren.

A son, Don, preceded him in death in 1938.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Grossmann Funeral Home.
