Dies in California HomeNORA SPRINGS, IOWA — Nora Springs relatives learned of the death of George Baughey, 73, on August 17, at his home in Long Beach, California.
Funeral services were held on August 20 at 1 p.m. in a funeral home chapel in Long Beach, with the Rev. Robert E. Wright of the Belmont Heights Methodist Church officiating.
A son of David and Margaret Baughey, he was born near Nora Springs on August 14, 1872. Until he moved to Long Beach in 1927, he had always lived and farmed in the community around Nora Springs.
He is survived by his widow and one daughter, both of Long Beach; two brothers, Joe and Walter Baughey, both of Nora Springs; and a number of nieces and nephews.
