Rudd services set for S. Arthur McElroy

RUDD, IOWA — Funeral services for S. Arthur McElroy, 89, will be at the First Methodist Church here Thursday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Rockford with Sheckler Funeral Home, Nora Springs, in charge of arrangements.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex McElroy, he was born in Rockford in 1877, He had lived in this area all his life. He farmed northeast of Rudd until about a year ago when he and his Wife, Janie, were taken to Rockford Convalescent Home. He died there Monday night.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Gerald, Palatine, Illinois; and a sister, Edna Hakes, a resident of Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, an infant son, a daughter, Gladys Gray, in 1954; and several brothers and sisters.
