Special Services:
The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. and the Vigil Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday both at the funeral home.

William “Bill” Dunn, 62, of Charles City, died Sunday, September 6, 2009, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Monsignor Stanley Hayek will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Alta Vista.

William Dennis Dunn was born March 3, 1947, at Charles City, the son of Franklin and Rose (Schmitt) Dunn. He attended Saint Williams School in Alta Vista and in 1970 graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Des Moines. On August 7, 1965, he was united in marriage to Lucile Starr at Elma. Over the years he worked for John Deere, the Charles City Police Department and at NIACC. Bill was also proprietor of Dunn Photography for 30 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. His interests included collecting John Deere memorabilia and guns. Bills’s greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. He took every opportunity to become involved in their activities and be a part of their lives.

Living family members include his wife, Lucile Dunn of Charles City; three children, Kim (Matt) Rowell of Shell Rock, Scott (Sophia) Dunn of Charles City and Heather (Greg) Detter of St. Louis, Mo; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Joe Campbell of Clarksville; a brother, Victor (Joan) Dunn of Charles City; and three sisters, Mary Schupanitz of New Hope, Minn., Sister Anne Marie of Mt. Pleasant and Eleanor (Ralph) Bistline of Omaha, Nebr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Michael Dunn; and a daughter, Karla Campbell.
