Velma Weatherwax

CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- Velma Weatherwax, 79, a former resident of 606 Pfeiffer Ave., died Monday (Jan. 1, 1996) at the Liebe Care Center, Greene.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Church, with Monsignor Stanley Hayek officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., with a 3 p.m. rosary by St. Jude Circle and a 7:30 p.m. parish vigil scripture service. There will be further visitation one hour before services at the church.

Velma R. Giles Weatherwax was born Feb. 14, 1916, at Hartington, Neb.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Cimmiyotti of Charles City and Shirley Bonzer of Shell Rock; one brother, Darrell Giles of Albert Lea, Minn.; three sisters, Isabel Schaefer of Austin, Minn., Beulah Feuerhelm of Albert Lea, Minn., and Stella Niehaus of Minneapolis, Minn.; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and three sisters.
